Making Copper Sulphate Crystals
Friday May 03, 2019
Friday May 03, 2019
Chemistry Paper 1 it’s all about making crystals. The three acids you could be tested on are hydrochloric, sulphuric, and nitric acids. Chlorides are made from hydrochloric acid, sulphates are made from sulphuric acid, and nitrates are made from nitric acid. The same method applies to all of them! Good luck! Feel free to leave a comment or tell me what topic you want for the weekend.

Here is your quick daily fire that’s been requested by you! Make a table for this one is my suggestion. Your three macronutrients: proteins, fats (lipids), and carbohydrates (starch). Go over where the three enzymes are made AND where the food is broken down. Bile and HCL (hydrochloric acid) are important to recap on too. Please leave comments below with other topics you need an extra push on!

Osmosis Required Practical
Wednesday May 01, 2019
Wednesday May 01, 2019
Biology Paper 1 required practical quick flash. Morning fire people! You need to keep pushing, keep going, never give up. I’ll be here to help but the rest comes down to how much you want it. So Osmosis - movement of water from an area of high concentration to low through a partially permeable membrane. Independent variable: different concentrations of sugar (or salt) concentrations (0M, 0.5M, 1.0M, 1.5M, 2M). Dependent variable: the percentage change in mass. Control variables: same volume of solutions, same temperature of solution, same type (species) or potato, covering the beakers to avoid evaporation. Now get out there and seize TODAY!

Genes & Alleles
Tuesday Apr 02, 2019
Tuesday Apr 02, 2019
Hey Everyone! Here is a quick genetics summary in as much detail as I could with a small amount of time. You’ll have to do a little work really grasp this. Get yourself a diagram of a nucleus with chromosomes, genes and alleles. If you really want to follow along also get a genetic diagram for cystic fibrosis and polydactyl (two inherited diseases you must know). Key words listed you may want to look up ahead of time as well: gene, allele, homozygous dominant and recessive and heterozygous. Extra - look up genotype and phenotype if you really are feeling intentional today! Happy revising

Today’s episode goes into how I start to link plants. I love to link multiple topics and ideas and this is how I start with plants. There is a seriously intentional pause at the end where you have this opportunity: Pause the podcast and continue on with the word equation for Photosynthesis, then look at what the three limiting factors, and end with the pond weed required practical. Your revision is what you make it! If you liked it leave a comment or if you want to hear more of something else let me know. Don’t forget to eat your vegetables!

28 & Reflection
Tuesday Mar 12, 2019
Tuesday Mar 12, 2019
I wanted to quickly touch on how important it is to reflect. Without reflection personal growth and development will never happen. Last week was exhausting for all of us but how many of you took five minutes to think about your successes and your failures? How many of you momentarily forgot about physical, mental and heart health last week? I know I did! This weeks goal: put your well-being first. Revise & Thrive but also take time for Joy! With 4 weeks left until we break up - let me know in the comments what topics you want and if you’re hoping to hear anyone else on here.
